<h1>Poppy Sensible Has No Regrets Over Reporting Wolf Whistler To Police</h1>
<p>A weekday afternoon in Worcester metropolis centre and the solar is thrashing down. Girls on their way dwelling from the workplace are peeling off their jackets and coats. One thing is lacking from this sunny scene: the cheeky ‘Whoot-whooo! ’ from a gaggle of goggle-eyed men, whistling their appreciation as a superb-trying lady walks by. The wolves of Worcester seem to have lost their voices.</p>
<p>Poppy Smart has rather a lot to do with that. This week, the 23-year-previous digital advertising and marketing co-ordinator made headlines after she reported a gaggle of builders to the police for wolf-whistling at her on her technique to work. Their behaviour — starting from whistles to lewd feedback on her appearance — occurred over 4 weeks, turning her every day commute into an ‘awful experience’.</p>
<p>Since reporting them final month, the wolf whistles have stopped, but Poppy’s story has divided the nation. Supporters have applauded her bravery in talking out, declaring wolf-whistling to be sexual harassment. Poppy has been criticised on-line and advised to ‘grow up’ and ‘stop moaning’. Certainly, Ian Merrett, 28, one of the builders accused of wolf-whistling at Poppy, dismissed her as ‘a foolish little girl’ who should have seen his behaviour as a ‘compliment’ and positively not a threat. Poppy is overwhelmed by the attention. ‘This has been actually tough,’ she says, speaking exclusively to the Mail. ‘I wasn’t on the lookout for any of this.</p>
<p>All I needed was for the men who have been hassling me to realise they have been upsetting me. I didn’t ask the police to cost or arrest them or accuse them of anything. ‘And I haven’t taken it any additional. Her plight started two months in the past, when Poppy, a enterprise graduate from the University of Worcester, began a brand new job. She was looking forward to the 15-minute stroll to work. ‘It was like clockwork,’ she says. ‘I received it each day. It began off as wolf whistles and feedback on my belongings.</p>
<p>They'd step out of the building site after I walked by and shout issues about my bum. Poppy tried to place up with their behaviour. She started carrying massive sunglasses to shield her face and headphones with the music turned up loud so she could block out what the men have been saying.</p>

<p>‘I wear denims, flat sneakers and a hoodie most days, so I wasn’t dressed up,’ she says. ‘I have a really big chest, so I don’t tend to put on low-minimize tops, and that i don’t overdo it on make-up. Miss Sensible says she has been overwhelmed by the eye. ‘On scorching days, I started retaining my jacket buttoned up because I didn’t need to encourage them.</p>
<p>She considered a different route to work, ‘but that may add ten minutes to my journey and that i wasn’t going to go out of my way for them’. Instead, she confided in her mother. ‘Mum talked about it to other people and they had mixed reactions,’ says Poppy. ‘Some mentioned I ought to report it; others thought I ought to embrace it and be completely satisfied these men discovered me attractive.</p>
